Academic Advisement
calpsadvisement@siu.edu
The advisement system at the College of Agricultural, Life and Physical Sciences is a unique and student-oriented system. The system has proven effective in enhancing student retention and fostering positive faculty-student relationships throughout a student's educational experience.
Admitted students should contact the College of Agricultural, Life and Physical Sciences Advisement Office at 618-453-3080, calpsadvisement@siu.edu, or stop by the Agriculture Building Room 217A, to schedule an advisement appointment with Kim Doellman, Kathy Elson, or Kaitlyn Kern (see list below for each advisor’s specialty areas). Your Academic Advisor will discuss your educational goals and help you select classes towards your major of interest. Our goal is to keep students on the right track to obtaining a degree in a timely manner!

Students may also meet with a Coordinating Counselor and/or Faculty Mentor to assist the student throughout their educational endeavors at the College of Agricultural, Life, and Physical Sciences. From summer internship options, to research opportunities and career advice, many students find this faculty-student relationship invaluable. Graduating students often call on their Faculty Mentors for job recommendations and professional advice.
