This Class Is For "Ewe"

At one time, the College offered courses related to sheep. However, the little lambs left campus years ago. But a growing interested in small, more manageable ruminants has the College bringing back the animals. Five Lincoln longwool ewes have moved into the Beef Center at University Farms. Dr. Gary Agpar is using the sheep in his Animal Science Production course. The class gives the students a chance to work “hands-on” with animals. During class, Apgar had the students participate in a game called “Flock the Flag.” Students had to capture a sheep, halter it, and lead it down an alleyway to retrieve a flag. “These kids will remember this forever, “ Apgar stated.
