The Department of Animal Science, Food & Nutrition offers graduate work leading to a Master of Science degree in Food and Nutrition with three notable concentrations:
In addition to these concentrations, our graduate program can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
Interdisciplinary by design, our exceptional graduate program provides a breadth of dynamic course offerings. This allows students to focus attention on which area of food consumption, production, preparation, safety, nutrition or impact they want to zero in on.
Our top-notch faculty lead graduate students in cutting-edge research and analyses and provide students with the chance to explore the variety of opportunities available across the food production spectrum and figure out where their interests lie.
Our specialized facilities (Food and Nutrition / Hospitality and Tourism), combined with our challenging academic program, help serve a regional need for our undergraduates and other people in Southern Illinois wishing to pursue a master’s degree.
At the same time, our hands-on coursework attracts national and international students and is rigorous enough to help prepare students who are desirous of earning a Ph.D.
