The Department of Forestry offers exciting graduate and undergraduate programs of study with a variety of customizable forestry programs.

Our courses teach students to skillfully combine their interest in forestry with real-world, in-demand skills in areas as diverse as forest habitat restoration and rehabilitation, silviculture and hydrology.

Our quality resources and facilities help students get their fingernails dirty, as they dive headfirst into real research in the field, using specialized equipment, tools and sampling devices.

Our dedicated, diverse and qualified faculty take pride in artfully blending experiential, hands-on learning with superior classroom instruction. Students also receive one-on-one guidance from their faculty advisor to customize a forestry degree in order to meet their employment and educational goals.

Our top-notch forestry program is one of 48 nationally accredited Bachelor of Science programs by the Society of American Foresters.

Our graduates find rewarding careers in forest resource management, ecological restoration, fire science, recreation ecology, watershed management and related fields.

Students enjoy quality, scientific educational, research opportunities, an outstanding natural location and get to choose from a variety of specializations as they delve into the sustainable management of our natural resources.
