On behalf of the Department of Animal Science, Food & Nutrition it is my pleasure to welcome you and introduce you to our outstanding faculty, staff, and programs. The Department offers comprehensive educational opportunities leading to undergraduate and graduate degrees (B.S. and M.S.) in Animal Science, Hospitality & Tourism Administration, and Human Nutrition & Dietetics. Moreover, the departmental faculty and staff place student success as our first commitment!
Our undergraduate Animal Science degree program offers specializations in Pre-veterinary Medicine/Science, Equine Science, and Animal Production. The undergraduate Hospitality & Tourism Administration degree program offers opportunities in Lodging, Event Planning, Food Service, and Tourism Management. The undergraduate Human Nutrition & Dietetics degree program is the first step to becoming a Registered Dietitian. Presently, we are expanding the Human Nutrition & Dietetics program to include specializations in Dietetics, Dietetics/ Pre-Nursing and Nutrition in Wellness.
Our departmental graduate programs (M.S.) are designed for students seeking additional specialized training and education in Animal Science, Community Nutrition/Dietetic Internship Program, and Nutritional Sciences. In addition, the department participates in the Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences program that offers specialized training using a multi-disciplinary approach.
