A specialization in Urban Forest Management empowers students with advanced knowledge and the skills necessary for dealing with trees stressed by urban environments.
Students delve into the management and care of forests and trees within urban areas in order to improve the social, economic, and environmental health and quality of life for urban residents, whether living in big cities or small towns.
What will I study?
Our curriculum is accredited by the Society of American Foresters and includes tree identification, forest ecology and ecosystems, forest social science, forest measurements and forest resource management.
Coursework is also included from a variety of related disciplines including: plant pathology, landscape design, landscape plant materials and management, state and local government and small business management.
