Outstanding Young Alumnus - Fahran Robb

On February 28, 2014, the College of Agricultural Sciences had their 62nd Annual All-Ag Banquet. The Agricultural Student Advisory Council hosted the event to recognize individuals and clubs for their outstanding work throughout the 2013-2014 school year.

Ms. Fahran Robb was awarded the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award. Fahran graduated with Summa Cum Laude Honors with the distinction of valedictorian from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a B.S. in Agricultural Systems; a B.A. in Political Science; and three minors in Agribusiness Economics, Environmental Studies, and Speech Communication.

She furthered her education and attended Cornell University, as well as Pennsylvania State University. She graduated from Cornell with a M.S. degree in Applied Economics and Management with a concentration in Public Policy Analysis and Agricultural Finance.  She then moved on to receive a J.D. from Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law where she studied Agricultural, Energy, Environmental, and International Trade Law.

Fahran currently holds such titles as Senior Scientific and Policy Advisor for biofuels at USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) Office of Global Analysis and White House National Security Staff point of contact for international energy security at USDA/FAS. Fahran also serves as a key member on USDA/FAS's Sustainable Agriculture Messaging Task Force which is charged with creating and executing a messaging action plan to combat misperceptions of U.S. Agriculture abroad and share the United States story on our long history of conservation success.
