Study Determines Added Bacteria Has Negative Impact On Obesity

Could diets supplemented with "helpful" bacterias improve the health benefits of soy? That is one of the questions that Michele M. Martin, a graduate student in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, was hoping to answer. Working in conjunction with her faculty sponsor, Martin studied the impact of bacteria added to the diet of rats. The findings suggested that adding two common bacteria led to increased body fat and early onset of diabetes.  Follow the link below to learn about this special study.
