The College of Agricultural Sciences prepares students for diverse careers in the field of agriculture and myriad related fields. With four departments and 25 specialty areas, we offer the educational experience you need to reach your career goals. Whether your focus is on more traditional programs like agribusiness economics, animal science or crop production or programs like forestry, landscape design, human nutrition or hospitality and tourism, we've got the program for you.
Hands-on learning and research opportunities are important here. We host two agronomy research centers, seven cooperative research centers, a tree improvement center and a horticulture research center. And that's just the beginning of what you'll find at SIU. We have orchards, labs for food and nutrition and hospitality and tourism, an equine center, a feed mill, a beef testing station, and centers for dairy, swine and beef operations. A vineyard, a vermicomposting center, turf grass plots and numerous greenhouses also provide untold learning experiences for our students.
Our internationally known faculty provide extraordinary experiences in the classroom and beyond. As a student, you can work alongside these educators in research and outreach work that has a real impact on the world.
