What will I study?
The Environmental Studies specialization in Plant, Soil and Agricutlural Systems provides a well rounded education in environmental problems related to agricutlure, plants and soils. Courses cover crops, soils, horticulture, and environmental sciences.

What facilities are at SIU?

Several facilities are available for students to obtain practical experience. The Horticulture Research Center includes greenhouses, field research and education laboratories. Undergraduate classes and labs are frequently held at the Center to provides hands-on learning experiences. In addition, there is a state-of-the-art genomic facility.

Internships with various crop and green industries are encouraged to broaden learning experiences and are available through partnerships with various companies and government agencies.
